Fireball Cider

Christmas didn’t really feel like Christmas when it’s 82 degrees out here in Florida. I seriously intended to go swimming because of that. Actually, I went but decided to drop the idea after dipping my feet into the water three times. After all, it’s still December.

So, I’ve been staying inside and making edible and drinkable things all day, every day. Because we are deep into the holiday season. Why not?!????

Fireball Cider

This delicious Fireball Cider was a special drink that I came up with for celebrating this holiday. If you could use one more drink to enlighten your holiday (The more, the merrier. It never hurts!), then this cinnamon apple infused drink might be just what you are looking for.

First, Fireball!

Known for its strong cinnamon flavor, Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey is a wonderful ingredient for making many fall or even winter drinks.

Fireball Cider

When Fireball meets Angry Orchard Crisp Apple Hard Cider, it’s named “Angry Balls”. I didn’t make it up.

When “Angry Balls” meets ginger ale and a splash of fresh lemon juice, it’s proudly named “Fireball Cider”. Now, I did make this one up.

The idea was to combine the whiskey and hard cider as a foundation of the cocktail, then add ginger ale on top to make it more sparkling and tasty. (We have tried to add a shot of Fireball in ginger ale, it was amazing!) At this point, the drink became sweet, cinnamony, crisp and smooth. However, the taste was not as good as what I imagined.

Fireball Cider

To balance the flavor, I found that fresh lemon juice always comes handy when mixing drinks. In this case, it’s not exceptional.

The sweetness in the drink is just enough to take the edge of the lemon. The sourness from the lemon, at the same time, makes the drink more crisp and refreshing. The flavor? Uber delish! Now, that’s the drink I am going after.

To make it more festive, garnish with sliced apple, lemon peels, or cinnamon sticks. Hope you enjoy! Here’s to 2016, friends. Cheers!
