Make your own tender, tangy, juicy beef burgers at home with only 12 basic ingredients and ten minutes of prep time. Then let the slow cooker take care of the rest.

Ingredients

  • 1 (3- to 4-pound) boneless beef roast 
  • 1/2 medium onion, diced
  • 4 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 2 teaspoons dry mustard
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/3 cup cider vinegar
  • 1/3 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt 
  • 6-8 burger buns

Instructions

  1.  Place beef roast in a 4- or 6-quart slow cooker. 
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine all other ingredients other than the buns; mix well. 
  3. Pour the sauce mixture over the beef. Cook on low for 6-8 hours. 
  4. Once done, use two forks to shred the beef. Taste, add more salt if desired. 
  5. Serve in burger buns with spring mix and tomato slices.
